Instructing a large group of kayakers needs a safety escort power boat with a swim lifeguard trained rescue crew.
Working with groups of beginner kayaker or canoers will sometimes require a fleet tow. It may be just to get home in time for food or perhaps some form of disaster. This is all part of our outdoor youth adventure leadership training.

We teach the most effective ways of rafting up and towing a raft to get all clients home safely.
Escort lifeguarding may also involve multiple rescues of kayaks or sailing dinghies in the event of sudden change in weather. There is likely to be multiple casualties requiring triage and directing clients to perform help tasks. Panic is always a factor in such events.
Calm leadership and direction is needed.
